It’s easy to get caught up in the daily grind and forget about our long-term goals and aspirations. But if we want to live a fulfilling life, it’s important to regularly check in with ourselves and ask the big questions:
Where do we want to be? Where are we now? And most importantly, what can we do to bridge the gap between the two?
- The 1% Shift: The first step in bridging this gap is identifying the small, incremental changes we can make to move towards our goals. We often underestimate the power of small actions over time, but they can add up to significant progress over the course of a lifetime. So, what’s the one percent shift you could make today to move towards where you want to be? It could be as simple as waking up 15 minutes earlier, setting aside time to work on a passion project, or committing to a daily exercise routine.
- Pace yourself! Next, think about the incremental changes you could commit to over the next day, week, month, year, and even decade. Remember, pace yourself accordingly. It’s important to set realistic goals and give ourselves the time and space we need to achieve them. By breaking down our goals into smaller, achievable steps, we can build momentum and create positive change in our lives.
So, where do you want to be? Where are you now? And what small, incremental changes can you make to bridge the gap between the two?
